About Us

We are situated on 22 lush acres just 15 minutes from downtown Hilo, and 20 minutes from the airport, at a very comfortable elevation of 850 feet.

So close to town, yet our home is definitely in the country. Pheasant, Hawaii Hawks, Owls (Puueo) and wild pig are a common sight. Have a close encounter with our 120 foot waterfall or swim in the 300 foot wide pond at its base. Walk over 2 miles of trails that weave their way along the powerful Waiau River, or have a barbecue in our bamboo garden. You never run out of things to do at Kulaniapia.
