Hydro Electric Facility

Our Hydro Electric Facility - Producing 4KW of electricity 24 hours a day, our Hydro plant allows us to exist in the middle of our Hilo Rain Forest as you would in any normal mainland style home. 

With the excess electricity we produce, we preheat all of our shower water allowing us to use less propane for hot water. This system is permitted by all Federal and State regulators. We are the only place of public accommodations in the world that relies solely on our own Clean and Green Hydro Electric Plant.

According to the website www.carbonfootprint,com we would have to plant 9 trees to mitigate our carbon use (propane and vehicle fuel). We support over 700 mature Macadamia Nut trees on our property which more than replaces the carbon we use, Hence our statement "We have a NEGATIVE carbon footprint!"
